Proposed closure of a portion of Market Row between Druitt Street and Mullins Street, Sydney CBD

Enlivening our laneways is part of the Sustainable Sydney 2030 vision to create a more vibrant city centre and a diverse, eclectic and unique culture with opportunities for local and emerging artists, entrepreneurs and a healthy live music scene.

The City of Sydney proposes to seek approval under Section 116 of the Roads Act (NSW) 1993 to close a small section of the lane at the southern end of Market Row between Druitt Street and Mullins Street and is seeking community views on the plan.

The permanent closure of this section of the lane in Market Row will provide an opportunity to improve and increase pedestrian activity and amenity within the lane. The closure of this section of the lane has been identified as an opportunity under the City’s laneways revitalisation project to enliven laneways and forgotten spaces.

Authorised vehicle access will be maintained from Mullins Street for vehicles accessing existing garages and loading docks.
