Sydney Design Advisory Panel
In April 2007, the City of Sydney appointed an independent Design Advisory Panel to assist in the endeavour to improve the design quality of private development and
Council’s own urban design and public projects.
The Panel has met regularly since its appointment, and has contributed considerably to raising Council’s commitment to design excellence throughout the planning, design and construction professions and industry. The Panel has also contributed to supporting Council’s goal to recognise its internal capacity to ensure design excellence is core business across Council.
The Panel continues to have a positive impact on Council staff and the many projects they contribute to.
Panel membership is comprised of;
- Professor Ken Maher (Panel Chair), Chairman, Hassell Pty Ltd
- Maria Atkinson, Head Global Sustainability Lend Lease, former CEO Green Building Council
- Kerry Clare, Director, Architectus Pty Ltd
- Professor Richard Johnson, Johnson Pilton and Walker Pty Ltd
- Elizabeth-Ann Macgregor, Director MCA
- Peter Mould, NSW Government Architect
- Professor James Weirick, UNSW faculty of the Built Environment
For more information on advice from panel on specific projects, contact the City’s appointed planner or project manager for the project.
